About Caitlin

Therapeutic approach:

My approach is kind and understanding while also managing to be efficient. My hope is to be able to help you feel confident and supported. I hope to create a safe space where you feel you can become better connected to yourself and your emotions. I often work from a cognitive standpoint, developing a better understanding of how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all interconnected and the work that can be done to more productively feel through each day. I utilize many components of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy to guide you during sessions. I tailor my approach based on your needs, creating a space for you to process and progress.

Training and education:

I have my master’s in social work from University of Cincinnati. I am a licensed independent social worker and have been practicing since 2016. For the last 4 years, I have been working at a local hospital on an inpatient psychiatric unit assisting patients during the highest times of crisis. I currently work on the perinatal and women's mental health team. I have experience working with women and men from many backgrounds during many phases of life. I have received advanced training from the Seleni Institute on Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders and Perinatal Grief and Loss. I also have advanced training in counseling in connection with infertility treatment from the Jefferson Institute.

Areas of interest:

I enjoy working with individuals and couples struggling with fertility. There are so many new emotions that surface when fertility challenges are added to a couple's plan to start a family. My hope is to allow you space to learn, feel, and process through those scary, uncomfortable feelings to make your journey to parenthood as manageable as it can be. I also have experience guiding women through anxiety and recurrent miscarriages. I like to focus on helping women find confidence in themselves, as well as helping parents manage family lives and careers. So much shifts when a baby is added to the family and I love working with new parents on discovering this new version of themselves. Whether you are already a parent, on the journey to become one, or are grieving losses related to your growing family, there is a safe space for you and I look forward to the opportunity to grow and learn with you all!

What brings me joy:

I love learning new things personally and professionally! I have done a ceramics class and blacksmithing class and have made really cool pots, bottle openers, and other little trinkets. I'm always looking for the next hobby to pick up or skill to learn. Cincinnati is full of cool and fun opportunities, and I especially love trying all the new restaurants. I enjoy taking advantage of the experiences that the city offers! When I am not traveling or exploring the city, I can be found at home making homemade pasta with my husband, wandering around my garden, or reading a book with a good cup of coffee.
