Hello!  I am a wife, mama, and Licensed Professional Counselor. I am passionate about providing compassionate care for those that care for others. Most of my experience over the past seven years has consisted of mentoring women, working with traumatized children, and assisting parents and caregivers in managing the stress and responsibilities they carry. I have a Master's degree in Human Services Counseling with a focus on trauma and crisis, as well as a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health. It was really through my own journey of becoming a mom that I decided to specialize in perinatal and maternal mental health. I think there can be so much guilt that comes with experiencing challenges in motherhood, whether that is the struggle of becoming a mother, difficulty managing the stress of parenthood, experiencing negative emotions in motherhood, or navigating new obstacles in life and relationships. I clearly remember my own moments of feeling lost, discouraged, and not "myself." However, I also know, both personally and professionally, how helpful compassionate, supportive counseling can be in this season. My hope is that you know you are not alone and that there is guidance and support available whenever you're ready. 

 

My approach to counseling is both compassionate and professional. I hope to create an environment where you experience a sense of safety, acceptance, and empathy. It's also very important to me that you experience progress! To this end, I utilize a variety of techniques from effective, research-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy.  I have also completed all required EMDR training and and am working towards certification.  Lastly, I have received advanced training from Seleni Institute on Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders.
